All Montana Horse
Country Adventures! are conducted in the mountains and foothills of southwest
and central Montana. This
is big country; you can see for miles, and can often see several mountain
ranges at once. You'll be able to ride at a pace that suits your
riding experience, over varied terrain. Depending on the season of
the year, you may ride through lush green flower-filled meadows, or you
may be riding on dry native short-grass range at other times. You
can expect to ride about four hours per day; a long day might be six hours.
Weather is changeable. You may have sunshine, rain, or even a brief
snow. Temperatures are generally moderate, and usually quite cool
at night, no matter how warm the day was. The elevation ranges from
4,000 to 6,000 feet above sea level..
Our horses are mountain
horses, used to traveling in this country. During the winter
months, they range free, like wild horses. They are experienced in
the work they do, most especially in taking good care of their riders.
We have horses of temperament and ability to match every level of rider.
Breeds represented in our herd include Quarter Horse, Thoroughbred, Appaloosa,
Paint, Arabian, Morgan, Tennessee Walker, and draft cross. |
